Five fun family activities to do on the Jersey Shore this summer – NBC10 Philadelphia

Summer fun and the Jersey Shore go together like Bruce Springsteen and Asbury Park.

Maybe you just like to sit on the sand and soak up the rays, but the popular vacation destination also offers options for those looking to add a little something extra to the family trip.

From pirate adventures to sunset dolphin cruises, we’ve compiled a list of unique summer activities the Jersey Shore has to offer for those who can spend a little extra.

Check out our list below (and if you’re on a budget, check out these free and inexpensive options):

Atlantic City: Go-Karting at Showboat

The indoor race track of the new Lucky Snake Arcade Raceway is equipped with electric go-karts that can reach speeds of up to 80 km/h. Located inside the Showboat Hotel in Atlantic City, the track offers what the company calls a “Las Vegas feel.”

After crossing the finish line and completing your course, enjoy light golf, bowling, ax throwing and rock climbing, all offered inside the Lucky Snake Arcade.

A go-kart race is $25, or you can take advantage of the circuit’s offer of three races for $65.

Ocean City: totally tubular water park

Beat the heat and add thrills at Totally Tubular Water Park in Ocean City.

For $35, you get 45 minutes on 5,000 square feet of inflatable toys, including slides and obstacle course-style elements. The company also offers group rates for larger families and friends, although little ones are encouraged to stay home as the park is designed for ages 6 and up.

Families can try wakeboarding, tubing, or riding banana boats (at a separate cost) with Totally Tubular’s water sports next to the water park.

Cape May: Sunset Dolphin Cruise

After a seaside dinner, enjoy a dolphin-watching and sunset cruise around Cape Island.

One ticket includes parking at the marina, pizza and hot dogs, and views of the Jersey Shore sunset throughout the two-hour tour. The company guarantees that passengers will see marine mammals – whales, dolphins or porpoises – and if you don’t, they issue passengers with a free pass for a future visit.

Tickets are $40 for adults, $25 for kids 7-12, and just a penny for kids 6 and under. Use code “NEW10” for 10% off your ticket purchase.

Brick: Pirates of the Jersey Shore

Embark on this 90-minute pirate adventure with the Jersey Shore Pirates.

Kids and families can enjoy this action-packed ride that incorporates treasure hunts, face painting, and a chance to learn pirate lingo. The ship departs from Brick, New Jersey and travels around Barnegat Bay.

The Jersey Shore Pirates also offer unnarrated sunset cruises for families who want to relax and unwind in relative calm.

Pirate Adventure tickets are $28 per person for anyone over 2 years old. Tickets for ages 2 and under are $14.

Be sure to book your tickets online before heading to the pier.

Wildwood: Breakfast in the Sky

A unique breakfast experience with a unique view of New Jersey awaits you at Morey’s Pier in Wildwood.

Breakfast in the Sky serves families of up to four the most important meal of the day above the Wildwood Boardwalk. The tables are set on the Ferris wheel, with a tablecloth, cloth napkins, flowers and, of course, great food.
