Clyde & Co. wins cost security in £9million negligence suit

By Sophia Dourou (June 10, 2022, 5:10 p.m. BST) – A London judge has ordered two Nigerian shipping companies to post a bond to cover the costs of Clyde & Co. LLP in the event of the loss of the £9 million (7, $3 million) negligence suit against the company.

High Court Judge Robin Knowles said on Friday there was a “real risk” that the firms would refuse to cover Clyde & Co.’s costs if the lawsuit they brought against it failed. The judge ordered costs security for a total of £625,000 ($770,000) to be paid in two stages.
